I love this place. The food was delectable at reasonable price. The service was on point. Our waitstaff was very attentive and calm. Recommend.

Casual yet thoughtful and friendly service for our late night stop. Fittingly our first eats in town. The pulled pork fries were incredible. Crispy thin fries dressed with a rich Carolina BBQ gravy with mounds of pulled pork topped with a very bright zippy cabbage slaw to balance all the rich salty flavors beneath. My fried green tomato sandwich was also delicious, with each ingredient fresh and thoughtfully prepared. I thought it could have used another sauce or something additional to add another flavor profile, but it was still very tasty and I finished it all. The bread was especially fresh. I would return as a welcome back to Phoenix anytime.

From visit 12/29/24... I lucked out and got a parallel parking spot right in front of the restaurant. As I walked up to the front, I went to enter into the diner, I let the person at the stand know that I wanted to go to the restroom before I sat. When I came back from the restroom, I asked if I could sit outside, he said absolutely. He gave me the menu and told me to sit where I wanted, and when I was ready to order, to come up to the window. About three minutes later, I walked up to the windowwith questions. He answered all my questions with ease, and was very helpful (did not get irritated ONE BIT and sometimes I be a little extra. Thank you NAME and Thank You for your ! Google said they were dog friendly so I brought my little YorkiePoo. Already, two families with a kid were so happy to see him and were so nice. I love when my puppy put smiles on peoples faces :) Anyway, I got the chicken burger (which I never order chicken sandwiches) but I asked NAME which he prefer and he said this one. I decided to add bacon because I love bacon on burgers. I also got a side Caesar salad and a whiskey sour with the egg whites. If you haven't had a whiskey sour made at a full bar, with egg whites, try it... That is the classic way to make a whiskey sour. Anyway, great first experience. I love trying new places, but if I'm ever back in the area with a friend, who I know hasn't been here, I will definitely bring them. Great vibes on the patio, thank you for the first experience again!!!

Overall, really good. The Pecan Pie was one of the best I have had. Wished i had a bigger slice and maybe ice cream in place of the whipped cream. 5/5 The Honey Mustard Chicken on a biscuit. The biscuit was really good. They say it's made from scratch. It felt a thinner but wider biscuit would have suited the thinner/wider chicken piece. The biscuit felt a little too dry due to the thickness. Otherwise, the flavor was very good! 4/5 Fries reminded me of in n out. The problem i had was that mine were very small and short. Hard to dip in sauce. Felt like it was the very last remnants of a batch. A little over cooked and small. Lot's of potential. Only sauce that i am aware of was ketchup at the table. Some other options would have been nice. The location is in a residential neighborhood just outside of the bustle. The decor was unique and fun (especially the bathroom). Service was good. Kept my water full. Couteous, not too talkative. Will be back to try the burger and the biscuits n gravy.

Welcome Diner is a classic downtown. Their food is exactly what you'd expect from a diner- hearty and filling and yummy. I love all their vegetarian/ vegan options, and being from the south- I appreciate their fried green tomatoes (although some ranch or pimento cheese would be welcomed.) They had a blueberry sour beer on tap as their special, which was a nice surprise. The cocktails are pretty basic, but it's cool they make their own fruit punch and ginger beer. The service was friendly and relatively quick, and I like the diner vibe for a casual stop otw home. They're open late night, so it's a good choice for after a game or bar.

A modern take on old school diner vibes with good food, good vibes, and good service. Visiting from Vegas. This place was a recommendation from a friend living in Phoenix. The diner was located tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood. The outside reminded me of a fallout shelter with decorations taken straight from the 40s. I ordered the welcome burger. 3 words. BEST BURGER EVER (and I'd like to call myself a burger crackhead). The only things that I didn't like about my order was the fries which seemed like fries at the bottom of the bag. And that they don't have regular ranch. Just a house made chiptole-ish tasting ranch. Other than that, service was personable, attentive, and friendly. If you like good burgers and cool vibes. Check out Welcome Diner!

Love, love, love Welcome Diner. First of all, the atmosphere is kind of hipster cool classic diner, definitely not fancy, but definitely interesting. From the artwork, to the random stickers everywhere to the pinatas in the tiny hallway to the bathrooms, this place just has personality. There is even a disco ball in the entrance and playground horses in the outdoor seating area. There is a little bar, and a dessert shelf with delicious looking pies. When we got there, there was a wait for a table inside, so we sat at the counter. This turned out to be pretty cool, because we could watch them cooking up the food. They really have it down to an art. When the cook cut my sandwich in half, some of the delicious filling squeezed out. I could have kissed him because he scooped up the wayward filling and put it right on my plate, instead of just leaving it there and wiping it away. The food here is so, so, so good. It's not light, heart healthy fare, but it doesn't matter because it is so, so, so good. I had the chicken melt, which is a chicken salad (not your typical chicken salad) on buttered, grilled Noble bread with cheese, lettuce and tomato. My son had the Big Jim, a huge piece of boneless fried chicken topped with bacon, cheese, and delicious sausage gravy sandwiched between a biscuit--a biscuit that was cut in half, buttered and grilled. And the fries? Like everything else, so, so, so good. One of these days I'm going to get out there early for breakfast. In sure it's fantastic, because every time we've been here everything has been.

Arrived to this spot after a long drive. I had glanced the menu over before arriving and didn't have time to call. I was just hoping they had fried green tomatoes! As soon as we walked in, staff was super welcoming , we were greeted and seated quickly. The place is nostalgic, diner back in the day vibe with counter seating and tables around inside and outside sunny seating was available too. They had the misters going to keep you cool outside. It brings down the temp quite a bit and makes it comfortable to seat outdoors. Many jars and old fashioned memorabilia decorate the place. The counter seating it's where it's at. You get to see all the magic behind the cooking action take place. I debated between an old fashioned burger once it was time to order but stuck to my original plan of the fried green tomatoes. I had the sandwich with the salad. Green tomatoes were perfectly breaded and seasoned and the bread got this sandwich was toasted yet very chewy inside, just right. The bread had this Succotash tangy sweet spread that brought out the sweetness of those fried green tomatoes. I enjoyed my sandwich very much. We also got an order of the poutine fries. They were smothered in country gravy. They fries were tasty but I think we should have ordered their biscuits and gravy instead. I was pretty full, servings are good size. I didn't think I'd get desert but I was eying their pies as soon as we walked in and they were running low from what I saw but hoped they had more in the back. Still, I decided to go for it and was able to snag a slice of that chocolate bourbon pecan pie! Oweeee, that was sooooo good. Had them slap a mound of vanilla ice cream on top of that and it was heavenly. I was very happy with the service and everything else, I enjoyed my meal experience here. Thank you so much.
